JPG lost from signature when fwd or replying

Can I just ask how you got the JPEG successfully included
for new mails?

I create a new signature file using the advanced editor,
which previews fine in the signature toolbox. However,
when I create a new message, I get the dreaded red cross
and empty grey box in the memo.

I noticed that if I changed the file path to be an
absolute reference (C:\blah) it worked without fail, but I
can't understand why any relative filepath wouldn't work
anyway.
