The facility to dispose of junk mail after prescribed number of days does
not work.
I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't tried using that feature in a while (the
one under Junk E-mail Protection), but I know it was working the last time I
tested it. Are these messages being moved the folder entitled "Junk E-mail"
with the red "no" sign icon in the Folder List? If they are being moved to
another folder you've created called "Junk", that feature won't work.
Also is it possible to send junk mail directly to trash?
You can create a rule to do this. Go to Tools > Rules, and click "New" (you
may need to click the appropriate tab for your e-mail account beforehand).
Create a rule that looks like this:
* Execute actions if any criteria are met
IF Is junk e-mail
THEN Delete Message
ˆ Enabled
Click OK to save the rule. Now incoming junk mail messages will be moved to
the Deleted Items folder.
