Junk mail notification in Entourage?

My Entourage junk mail filters works well. The only problem is that when I
receive mail that is sent to the junk folder Entourage comes to the
forefront, no matter what I'm doing on my Mac. I don't have my notification
preferences set that way. Anyone have an idea why this is happening?
