I am using power point 03, and for some weird reason. Everytime I open the
file, on certain text boxes, my font has the shadow effect. I keep
unselecting it and resaving, but it still appears. Can anyone tell me how to
solve this?

The shadow is probably on the Master Slide text box placeholder. It gets
re-applied sometimes when it is not supposed to be (see post by Nolan Haims
earlier today).

Open the aster slide
View => Master => Slide Master

Select the text box placeholder with the shadowed text (not the text, but
the text box)
Select anything inside of the text box then press the escape key once

Change the text font shadow property
Select Format => Font => uncheck the Shadow checkbox

Change the shape shadow setting
Select (on the drawing toolbar usually at the bottom of the PowerPoint
edit screen) the green box with the shadow. Select 'No Shadow'

Close the Master and save the presentation.

This should take care of the recurring shadowed text issue.

You know, I often have this very same feeling. :)

Try removing the shadow from the placeholder on the slide master. Go to
View|Master|Slide Master, select the placeholder (where it says "click to
add text"), and remove the shadow from it. Then go back to View|Normal and
resave.

In addition to what Bill / Echo said

Another possibilty is that the default setting includes a shadow.

Select any affected text box, remove shadow with draw > shadow and then
right click > set autoshape defaults

Did that answer the question / help?
