label borders

In Word XP (Professional), when I bring up a sheet of
labels with the envelopes/labels option, the sheet that
comes up does not show the grayed-out borders of the
labels. The sheet appears to be completely blank! The
last time I used labels, it was fine and I did not make
any changes. I can't seem to get the borders to display
again. when I go under options and choose to display text
boundaries, it actually prints the boundaries which I
don't want. HELP!

The default used to show the gridlines... any tips on making that the default again? Happened suddenly on severa
of our PCs recently.

It's a toggle and should retain the last used setting, though Word 2003
particularly seems to have a mind of its own and may need some encouragement
in the form of autoexec macros in normal.dot -

Sub Autonew()
ActiveWindow.View.TableGridlines = True
End Sub

Sub AutoOpen()
ActiveWindow.View.TableGridlines = True
End Sub
