hi a document i was working with when opened has changed to a totally new language, russian i think! the language at the bottom still says english, but it definatly is not. please help

definatly is not.When you say a "new language" to you mean the spell check is trying to check in
that language? Or that the text is being displayed in a different font?
If the latter (which I suspect, given your description), have you checked to make
sure it's still using the correct font? If you select some text and apply
something banal, such as Times New Roman, does that text look as you'd expect?
