Office XP Professional- Word. I cannot override the Normal.dot. Formatting. My default is English (Australian) but the first formatting mark remains resolutely fixed at English(US) no matter what. Any help would be much appreciated

Do you have US English set in the *Windows* regional settings (this is the
default for Windows installations - unless you expressly tell it otherwise)?
