LDAP and Calendar

Bob Bernstein

Two issues if anyone can help:

1 - Finally got the LDAP to work thanks to the script that's out there.
However, the only way I can lookup a name is in the e-mail field. If I type
on the "name" field, it returns no results. If I type in john.smith in the
e-mail field, then I get a list of names. Is there a setting somewhere I can
just type in John or Smith and get a listing of all those names?

2 - Regarding getting calendar appointments as e-mail messages.
I've seen quite a few posts regarding fixes for this, but can't seem to
follow them too well.
A test I did was I went into my outlook web access and created an
appointment to myself. When I went back to Entourage, the message was in my
calendar folder as an e-mail. I also noticed that I don't get "Accept"
buttons when receiving an appointment/meeting.

Could someone walk me through this issue?

Appreciate any help that can be offered.

It means the Free/busy server is not setup properly in ENtourage.
If your Webmail server is :
http://www.webmailserver.com/exchange/

use:
www.webmailserver.com/public

Corentin: Thanks.

What I have is https://mail.mycompany.com/exchange

What I put in the free/busy server was:

mail.mycompany.com/public

Doesn't seem to work.

If I click on "find names" from OWA and view the document source, it shows
this path:

mail.mycompany.com/exchange/finduser/root.asp

Does that help at all or do you think mail.mycompany.com/public is still the
right path to take?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Bob,
Corentin: Thanks.

mail.mycompany.com/public

Doesn't seem to work.

Since the address is in https, it means you also need to check the box
allowing Entourage to use SSL.

If I click on "find names" from OWA and view the document source, it shows
this path:

mail.mycompany.com/exchange/finduser/root.asp

The root.asp seems a bit weird to me, but beside that, the path seems
pretty standard.
Does that help at all or do you think mail.mycompany.com/public is still the
right path to take?

I think it still is the right path. All you shoudl need is to make sure
Entourage uses SSL.
