LDAP on Exchange 5.5 running Entourage 2004

I have Entourage 2004 working fine with Exchange 5.5 (IMAP).

Is there a fix or work around to getting the LDAP/Global Address book
to work under these condidtions?

Is this possible or just a known issue and we should wait for Exchange
2003 to be installed?

thank you,

I am not very familiar with Exchange 5.5's LDAP support (or the AD server
that it shipped with). However, if you want to use a regular Directory
Services account (rather than an Exchange account's associated directory
service), I would suggest using no search base and port 3268 (or 3269 for
SSL). Alternatively, you can use a search base of the default naming context
(e.g., DC=domain,DC=com) and the regular LDAP port (389, or 636 for SSL).

Neither will let you browse the GAL. That requires AD 2k3. However, you
should be able to make regular searches.

If the Exchange server has LDAP enabled, you should be able to just connect
to it. I was able to in a previous life. I had to set the LDAP server not to
log on in my particular case, and it didn't work off-network.

You'll probably need to check with your Exchange administrator to find out
how they have the server configured. Otherwise, trial and error will be your
best bet.
