HELLO!

OKAY, HERE'S THE DEAL...

I BELIEVE THIS HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH LDAP?!

I HAVE A USER THAT HAS ENTOURAGE 2004 WITH SP1 ON 2 SEPARATE MACS.
BOTH CONFIGURED TO OUR EXCHANGE SERVER IDENTICALLY.
ONE CAN ACCESS OUR "GAL" FROM "DIRECTORY SERVICES" UNDER THE TOOLS MENU AND
ALSO FROM THE "CHECK NAME" BUTTON WITHIN THE EMAILS ADDRESS FIELD. THE OTHER
CANNOT. WE GET AN ERROR OF EITHER "NAME COULD NOT BE FOUND" OR A BLANK BOX.

ANYONE KNOW WHY?

Okay!
Here's a little something to add to this...
I just found out that one of her Mac's was actually upgraded from Entourage
X to 2004.
She doesn't know or remember if the Identity was imported or not.
Is there a way to find out?
Could that maybe be effecting the way Entourage checks for information?

It shouldn't make any difference. There has to be something wrong in the
configuration of the second one. It might be a hidden option though like
the port number or the fact that the LDAP requires authentication for
instance...

Hi all, and Corentin!


That's exactly what it was. A hidden option that for some reason did not
transfer over when Entourage 2004 imported the settings and Identity of
Entourage X. The setting in question was in Tools/accounts/Exchange, under
the "Directory" tab right under the "Search Base" field, if you click on
"Click Here For Advanced Options" the option "This Server Requires Me To Log
On" was not checked even though it was in Entourage X.

Once I figured it out by trial and error, finally, everything worked!
