Trying to read it in Notepad?

For some reason, it appears that Notepad is becoming confused when trying to
read an .ldb file. Instead of seeing it as an ASCII-encoded file, it is
seeing it as a UNICODE-encoded file.

One manual workaround is this:
(1) Open Notepad.
(2) Within Notepad, navigate to the desired .ldb file. Select
ASCII-encoding and open the file.
(3) While keeping the file open, click File | Open and again open the
same .ldb file. It now will open correctly.
