Learning Essentials 2.0 & Office 2007

D

dawho9

Has anyone else noticed that when Learning Essentials 2.0 is installed
with Office 2007 the time it takes for any office program to start up
is about 30 to 60 seconds. All you see is the blue screen and where
the ribbon/tabs are is blank, as if its trying to draw them or
something.

Any suggestions on how to improve?

Thanks,

Richard

Its only with Microsoft Word. Excel and Powerpoint pop right up with
absolutely no problems. Also to note, closing Word also takes about
30 to 60 seconds. Of course, if I go into the Tools | Add Ons and
remove the three references to Learning Essentials it works great.

Is your virus scanner integrated into Office? If yes, disable that.
What type of add-in is the one from Learning Essentials 2.0 (COM Add-in,
template)? Word should tell you this in the Add-Ins dialog.

No integration with Virus Scan (at least not that I know of). Using
McAfee Enterprise 8.5 for computer. I'll take a look on Monday
morning for the type as I'm not home right now, but I will also try to
disable the Virus Scan just as a test.

Don't disable the virus scanner completely for a first test. Look
through the options and see if it has an Office integration, then
disable that. If it doesn't, disable it completely for a test.

Check. No VS integration. Tried it with VS disable. No change.
Tried removing VS all together. No change.

Thanks,

Richard
