Leopard Server and Entourage Exchange Accounts

L

Lennert Dorman

Last Friday we installed (Update) Leopard on two MacBooks and
everything worked fine. Yesterday we installed Leopard Server on a
test machine. When we restarted we tied our clients to the Server.
This morning we encountered problems using Entourage and Outlook Web
Access. Entourage was saying "Not Connected" and OWA refused to give a
login window. Using the Directory Utility we 'untied' our machines to
the Server but that didn't help. Only when we shut down Leopard Server
Entourage and OWA stared to work again. We've no clue why this is
happening.

We keep on looking into the problem but if anybody has any pointers,
please post.

Hi Lennert!

I'm going to restate what you've said so that I make sure we're
discussing the same situation:

You updated two computers to Leopard and Entourage still connected to
your Exchange Server. After installing Leopard server on a third machine
your two computers could no longer connect to Exchange. Correct?

This sounds like a simple networking issue. Do you have services such as
DHCP and DNS running on your Leopard server? Should they be running?

I suspect your Leopard server is putting out rogue network information
and your two computers are picking it up instead of your primary
DHCP/DNS servers. Probably because it's logically in closer proximity to
your two computers.

If I've misunderstood, please let me know.

Hope this helps!
