Line length for received emails is capped

hello there

i just installed Office 2004 and configured my email account
unfortunately i encountered the problem that entourage just caps emails
with lots of chars (see below) in one line, no other mail client i
tried with (kmail, apple mail, thunderbird) does that.
the emails are about 325k overall and contain like 20 lines with 1 line
being around 318k chars in length. the Emails (not the line) are capped
after a varying number of lines ive seen values of about 11k to 36k so
far. im using an imap account.

sorry that i cant give more detailed information at this time, if you
need more specific informations just tell me.

is there any solution for this or do i just have to live with it.

RFC 2822, which describes the Internet Message format says in §2.1.1 that
"Each line of characters MUST be no more than 998 characters, and SHOULD be
no more than 78 characters, excluding the CRLF"

E-mail clients may be permissive and be able to receive mails that don't
conform to that standard, but the further out of conformance, the less
likely it is to work. :)

Is it the actual e-mail source line (i.e., the text you would see if you
were to View/Source of the message) in the message that long? Are there
examples?

Hello again,

i hadnt read the rfc, sorry for that but i think i can give a more
detailed description now as i found out some more details.

Entourage by defautl receives email only partially if they are above
20k in size. if you double click on such an email it opens a window to
display it (the part of the email it already received). in the first
row you are given the opportunity to get the complete email from the
server. if i do that it gets the complete email. afterwards entourage
displays a larger part of this email instead of the complete email in
that window. however if i switch to the source view of this email its
completely displayed there (in the source view window).

maybe its just an display issue.

i can forward you some of thoose emails just tell me where :)
