link in entourage

How do I insert a weblink in a mail message or a signature???

Just type the url completely such as http://www.apple.com (be sure you add
the http:// portion). It won't show in the composing window unless you say
"send later" and then preview it. But rest assured that it will be a
clickable link on the other end.

In addition to Mark's comments: if you enter the complete URL, they *should*
show up as hyperlinks on the receiving end, just like Mark said. However, it
is up to the receiving end's email client to interpret the http:// as a
clickable hyperlink, and it might not do that (even though any modern
program should). Anyway, another great solution (until Microsoft decide to
build the Insert Hyperlink function into Entourage) is Paul Berkowitz's free
AppleScript Make Hyperlinks X, which you can find here:
<http://scriptbuilders.net/files/makehyperlinksx2.2.1.html>
This script will allow you to create real hyperlinks, i.e. associating some
text with a URL, thus making your emails look more professional. However, I
don't think it's possible to use that script in a signature.

Actually, it is possible. And if you "register" (add) it using the Make
Hyperlinks Add-Remove script that comes with it, you won't need to fill in
the details more than that one time. If you run the main script when ready
to send a message with the signature that has the "added" URL in long form,
it gets sent with the hyperlink.

Unless you want such a "text" hyperlink (which can be formatted however you
like), it shouldn't be necessary to use the script - just do what mmmmmmmark
says. But some Windows email recipients won't read plain text hyperlinks
correctly, especially if they're really long, and then the script can be
really useful for those too.
