Linked cells showing #N/A rather than data!

I have two workbooks for the purposes of this question I'll just cal
them Parent.xls and Child.xls

Child.xls contains a number of references to cells in Parent.xls

When I open Child.xls I enable macros and agree to update all linke
information, but a number of cells show #N/A instead of the data fro
Parent.xls

If I open Parent.xls first and then Child.xls (while Parent.xls i
still open) the links work fine.

Is there any way I can fix this problem?
