Linking a field to another on a form

H

HW

I know this is probably an easy issue, but I just can't
seem to get it.

I have a form that lists Technical Reports and their
properties. This is based off the table "TRinfotbl".

One of the fields in the TRinfotbl is named "Replaced
TR". This field is a combo box that lists all the TRs.
I've done this because a new Technical Report can replace
an older Technical Report.

On the TR Form, I have placed a command button that
says "Go To TR". This is placed next to the "Replaced TR"
combo box.

I'm looking for a way to select a TR that was replaced and
have the command button link that "Replaced TR" to the
new "TR". I want the button to go to the record that was
replaced. DoCmd.GoToRecord doesn't seem to work.

Why am I making this so hard? Any help is appreciated.
I'm obviously new at this VB stuff.
