Hi, I may be repeating the same ?'s over and over... but
Please explain how to copy my mp3 songs onto my slides so that I can
transport it over to another computer and play the show. I know how to
insert the sound file but I can't tell if I actually copied it or not I do
see the little speaker icon. When I drag and drop from the folder the mp3 is
located in to the slide, All I see is the name of the song...thanks!!!

MP3s are not embedded in the presentation file. They are linked. That means
that what is actually inserted is an address that tells PowerPoint where to find
the file when it comes time to play it. Sooo, you have to move both the
presentation *and* the MP3 when you distribute your presentation or move it to
another system.

The way to correctly insert the MP3 is to first put it in the same folder as the
presentation (drag and drop it there if you want) and then in PowerPoint use the
Insert > Movies and Sounds > Sound from File menu to actually do the insert.

so if my presentation is in a folder called "my files" (on my hard drive) I
drag it there? Then I actually save everything together?

Yes, put the MP3 in "my files" and then open PowerPoint and open the
presentation. Delete the MP3/sound icon and then re-insert it using Insert >
Movies and Sounds > Sound from File. Then you can move both files together and
put them in a folder on another system and they will work.

Sometimes it helps to see more detail, so go to:

Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or email a
presentation
