I am linking to an external table through ODBC into Access
2000. The table structure shows certain fields as text
even though the original application has these fields as
number fields. Evidently, Access is making an incorrect
assumption as to the nature of these fields.
I have seen a note that in linking to external sources
Access will sometimes make these incorrect assumptions but
nowhere can I find a means to force Access to format these
fields as numbers. Has anyone seen this problem before?
In addition, I am taking this data and making a table for
use elsewhere in my application. I dimly remember some
way of forcing a format onto a field when making a table
but for the life of me, I cannot remember how to do it.
Any help would be appreciated.
