Linking various activities to a contact

I see how to include the contact link in all forms. But it is very time
consuming to scroll down my list of almost 5000 contacts to select the one
that I want to link to.

I do realize that I can just start typing the name and i will be taken
closer in the list to the contact i am seeking but it is still not a smooth
process.

It seems that in a previous version I was able to use address book or this
other search tool to locate a contact when I was trying to link it to an
activity. Do i remember correctly?

They changed the dialog a bit in 2007. if you know the name, just type all
or part of the name in the field and outlook will resolve it (Ctrl+K to
resolve it immediately)

The solution you gave on right click a contact and select from create menu
has all but nullified this post. Thanks again.
