Links not working in Preview

Sometimes, URL links in emails don't work when clicked in the Preview pane.
Opening the message in its own window causes them to work. This bug
plagued Office X -- surprised not to see it fixed in Office 2004. Known
issue? Any workarounds?

Known issue. Seems to be complex HTML mails that are most affected.

For a work-round, try command-clicking the links.
