My presentation pauses and takes along time to load music. What can I do to speed it up?
How big is the music file? You might need to resample it in a sound
editor so that it's smaller. Often, music recorded at CD quality isn't
necessary for playback in PPT. Voice audio files, for instance, will
sound just fine at a much lower setting for Hz (11,000-ish as opposed to
44,000-ish), 8-bit depth (instead of 16-bit), and mono instead of
stereo.
Dropping music files down to mono (from stereo) and 11000 or 22000 Hz
(from 44000) can also trim the audio file size by more than half. That
puts less stress on the system, and PPT can usually call the file
faster.
