Local Folders Deleted. Can't Restore Them

Once you delete a folder from under ³Folders on My Computer² can you get
them back? I have a user that is on an Exchange server that deletes emails
after they reach 90 days. In order to keep them longer she created folders
under the ³Folders on My Computer² and would copy the email in them. She
told me she came back from vacation and when she started Entourage it was
like it was the first time she started it. With the welcome message and her
Exchange Account was gone and so were her local folders. I restored her
account but can¹t seem to find the local folders. Can anyone help? Thanks,
-Dave

A similar thing happened with a user here. After the recent Office update,
she started Entourage and it was as if she had never used the program
before. Accounts, emails, calendar all gone. It turns out that for some
reason the database file had been moved (very slightly). The Entourage mail
database lives at user/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004
Identities/Main Identity (the file name is database).

Somehow a folder named Documents appeared in the Documents folder and once I
drilled down I found the old database file.

Once you replace the old one with the new one all the old emails may be
there. But be careful about doing that because all recent emails (since you
reset the accounts) will be gone (unless they are stored on a central
server, which it seems like they are.)

I hope this is helpful.

You might also want to go to Entourage > Switch Identity and see if you can
find the proper identity there. There have been some cases in which
Entourage starts with a new identity for no apparent reason.

Something like that happened. Her Entourage wasn¹t updated but somehow her
correct database got moved to the trash. Luckily she didn¹t empty her trash
and I retrieved it. Thanks for the help!
