Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

I am constantly having it prompt me for my exchange password. When i go to accounts in Entourage it is blank. I put it in an later on it is blank again.
The keychain is fine. I have deleted the account and recreated and it still happens to the point now the product is unusable.

Did you run Keychain First Aid? I've never had it reported before that
database corruption caused this. It's either in your keychain or
preferences. It's possible a refresh of your files using the Apple combo
updater would fix it, but most likely it's in your keychain. Try creating a
new keychain and test if running first aid does not fix the problem.

Steps to help determine where the problem is located.

1) you can eliminate your Identity by creating a new Identity in Entourage
and see if you experience the same problem.

2) if a new Identity still exhibits the same issues, then create a new User
in System Preferences and test Entourage there. If the problem is in your
User's account, then log out/in with Shift key down to disable any startup
items. Test. If the problem still exists, it's most likely a preference file
that's corrupt. See Troubleshooting Basics

3) If the problems still exist in the new User, it's a problem with your
Office install or your base OS files. If running the Apple combo does not
fix, then you might need to do an "Archive & Install".

Unfortuneately I have tried all but the archive and install as that is a big risky effort. None of the items listed fix the issues. As i have explored the web this is a much larger issue - if you go to Intermedia - the exchange service i use, they have a knowlege base article and state that this is known to Microsoft and their has been no fix. they give 8 things you can try - i did and none of them fix the issue. I have 2 of 6 machines with the problem and it makes Entourage unusable.

The one thing i havent tried is removing the preference files for office. what are they called?

Search for microsoft in User's Library preferences. There are many .plist
files and one Microsoft folder.

eg: com.microsoft.DatabaseDaemon.plist

However some preferences are in the database. The only way you can eliminate
that is test in a new Identity. If that works then you know the pref is not
in Library/Prefs. Testing in a new User with your problem Identity will give
you all new preferences as a test.

You created a good subject but if you had put Exchange in the subject it
would get the attention of the Exchange folks that might be better at
helping with this issue.
