LONG Delays Sending Mass Emails

I have a mailing list of 430 people and every time I send a group email to
them all, Entourage takes 4-5 hours to send it. The whole time the
bottom-left corner of the window displays the name of the domain I¹m sending
from and ³Sending mail data.² There are no attachments involved at all, just
text. Emails to one or two people send instantly. Does anyone know why this
happens? Any suggestions about how I can prevent it in the future? Thanks in
advance.

Are you using any scripts to break up the recipient list into manageable
chunks? This will result in many messages being sent instead of just one.

Also, what method are you using to address? A Address book group? What
settings do you have for Œshow addresses¹ etc?

What connection method? Dial-up or broadband?

What versions of Entourage and OS?

I am not using any scripts. I¹m afraid I don¹t know what that means.

I have the whole 430 person mailing list stored as a single Address Book
Group. I have ³don¹t show addresses when sending to group² selected. Is
there a better way?

I am connected via wireless airport to a cable modem.

I¹m using Entourage 10.1.4 and Mac OS X 10.3.6.

Any additional input would be greatly appreciated.
