Lookup for dates

without using any VBA, can we make excel to lookup the date and insert
the data there? To illustrate my point...

Supposing A2 is an amount, say 1000 and B2 is the due date, say
3/5/2004

Supposing E1 is the date, 3/5/2004...Can we make Excel to lookup at the
due date (which is manual keyed in) and auto copy the amount 1000 to
cell E2?

Hi Peo,

Gee..thanks...that's wonderful..

But I have another problem, thought u may help also...

As u see, Excel has a maximum of 256 colums...so if I need to displa
all days of the year (ie. 365days), I need 365 columns!
Can we expand the worksheet for more columns? If not, is there an
other way we could capture all amt during the year in 1 workbook?

Pls help
