I have a spreadsheet that looks like this

Item Date Qty
A890 8/4 10
8/5 12
A522 8/1 5
8/5 15
8/19 10

I want to list each item by date...

8/5 A890 12
8/5 A522 15 etc

Need help

Thanks

Hi
first fill column A with the Item ID for all rows. After this it is
just a simple sort with the date column (and maybe re-ordering the
columns)

I would sort these items with List functions: Mark a cell within the
existing list and click Data and select List - Create List. Excel will
automatically format your columns to Excel Lists. You can now sort under
many different headings and sort back again to what ever you want. For even
more options right click within the lists and select List - Toggle Row.
Then place the curser at the bottom cells and select what function you want
there; count, average, max, min etc.

Read up on this subject on

It will give you some good training.
