Loss of VBA functions

I was just 'upgraded' to a new machine. WinXP SP2 is the OS with a new Office
2003. The first day was rough but everything seemed to work (I have a lot of
'simple' macros in Word and Excel. Day 2 the macros quit. My IM and I can't
figure why. The error is "This workbook has lost its VBA project, ActiveX
controls and other progtammability-related featuers". Security is 'Medium'
