I just loaded the new system update 10.3.8 from Apple and then I went
in and launched Entourage after the reboot. To my horror the program
acted like it was the very first time I had ever used it. I tried
looking in the databases under the user profiles and nothing worked. I
am not worried about my hotmail (since that obviously resides
elsewhere), but I also had my Comcast accoun t running in there and had
a lot of important emials stored in the folders. I had never made a
back-up of my database (DUMB I know). Does anyone have any idea how to
fix this?????

Same issue here wit hone of my internal customers: Office 2004
w/Entourage, customer has multiple accounts configured, Exchange 2003
server farm, wokrin okay Friday, all Account Settings in Entourage gone
Monday, reconfiguring the accouns recovered/synched only what was on
the servers. Microsoft did not test/think this through too well it
seems.

Generally when Entourage starts up with a new Identity, it is because the
Identity has been moved. I suspect that because this happened with the
update after a reboot that you might find it in an invisible file. Do a
search for invisible files. Look for a hidden folder called "lost+found".

I suggest running Repair Permissions after an OS update. I had sleep
problems after updating to 10.3.8 until I rebuilt my permissions. How to
"Repair Permissions."
