Lost connection to Exchange w/ Entourage 2004

I have been using Entourage X 10.1.4 with a hosted Exchange server and it
was working fine for mail (Calendar and Contacts were not synchronizing, but
that is another issue).
I just upgraded to Entourage 2004 and during installation, my old identity
was imported successfully. However, after starting Entourage 2004, I can no
longer connect to the Exchange Server. I have contacted the company hosting
our Exchange server and they claim no settings have changed on their end.
They don't have great support for Entourage clients so I am on my own to get
things working again.

Does anyone know why this might have happened?

I have deleted my old Exchange account and set up a fresh one using the
instructions from Andy Ruff from an earlier post, but to no avail.
I am actually using the IP address of the Exchange server in the setup field
for the server, but am leaving the domain field blank (as I had previously
when it was working OK in ver 10.4.1). I may not have set up LDAP and public
folders settings correctly yet, but shouldn't mail work OK anyway? Also,
what happened to the SMTP settings on the mail tab with version 2004?

Entourage 10.1.4 used IMAP/SMTP to communicate with the Exchange server.
Entourage 2004 uses HTTP-DAV. Ask your Exchange server host if they support
Outlook Web Access (OWA)? If they you should be able to connect Entourage
to your Exchange server. In the server field, you should be putting the URL
to your Exchange server's OWA site.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the input. That explains why the SMTP option is no longer
available in setup. I do have Outlook Web Access. The URL I use is either
http:\\exchange.usa.net or https:\\exchange.usa.net\exchange (no user name
at the end of the URL is required for our configuration). Do I enter the
full URL with "http:" or "https:"?

I am actually using forward slashes, not back slashes in the address. The
address I am using for the Exchange Server field is
"https://exchange.usa.net/exchange" (the domain field is left blank).

For the LDAP server field, I am using the Directory Server name obtained
from an Outlook 2003 client attached to the same server. I am leaving the
Search Base field blank on the directory tab (what should be here?).

For the public folders server I am using "https://exchange.usa.net/Public/"
(this works if I type this in a web browser)

After doing this the "(not connected)" message to the right of the Exchange
account name disappears (apparently indicating successful connection?) but I
still do not get any folders under the Exchange account name?

I can establish an IMAP connection to the Exchange server without any
trouble, but that does not give me access to calendar and contacts....

If you have any suggestions please let me know.
