Lost Edits

Lost data.

I think I am losing my mind. I edit my master schedule a lot and use auto
save to ensure that nothing gets lost. Lately I have finding a few instances
where I find tasks that I am 100% sure have been edited but seem to have
reverted to their old value.

I understand that this is impossible. The data goes in and I save it across
the network …. Should be as simple as that. Is there any possible bazaar
Database glitch besides operator needed sleep?

Hi Bob,

You may not necessarily be losing your mind :)

You mention that you are editing a master schedule. I assume the
subprojects are linked to the master? If you make a change to the master
file that is linked to the subproject, it is entirely possible that the
subproject is then being changed by another user and the change made to the
subproject is automatically reflected in your master.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

No there are no sub schedules..... Considering that I do this for a living
lets assume I have lost my mind

Hi Bob,

Reading between your lines, are you using Project Professional with Project
server etc? If so, I think you have to publish it to save the data - but I
know nothing about the Pro version. Perhaps you'd like to try posting on
the server newsgroup. Please see FAQ Item: 24. Project Newsgroups. FAQs,
companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at this
web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm
