lost everything - I think

I was having a tidy up & in the process moved my MS user data folder.
As a result, when I open Entourage nothing is in it (none of my file
structures or data). I still have my user data folder & the database
file has 30MB in it so I hope I still have my data but it is not
connecting with the programme. I have put it back to where it should be
& did the database rebuild tool but still nothing appears in my
entourage.

Any ideas? I think (hope) the problem is the connection is missing
between the programme & the data.

If anyone could help I would be very grateful I am getting a bit
stressed to say the least!

No, I don't think you have lost anything. Entourage created a new "identity"
for you when you moved the database away from its predetermined location.
Now, even though you have moved it back, it is still pointing to the empty
identity's database.

Try using "Switch Identity" from the Entourage menu. It should list two
databases, and your original one should be there. Once you have selected it
and confirmed you have the data you thought you lost, you can go to your
Identities folder and remove the bogus one.

It is possible to relocate the database, if you wish to. Create an Alias for
the Microsoft User Data folder in its current location. Then, move the
actual MUD folder to the place you want it to be, and remove the word
"Alias" from the MUD alias, so it is called simply "Microsoft User Data".
Entourage will now see the alias and follow it to the new location
transparently to the user.
