Lost Inbox After Installing Outlook 2003

have just finished installing Office 2003, trial version onto a users
laptop. This user now has his PC and also his laptop (XP Tablet) to access
Outlook. After I configured his Outlook profile (cached mode) on his laptop
he lost all mail in his inbox on his PC. What happened? I have delted and
recreated his profile on the PC. What next?

All the mail in his inbox in now on his laptop, but no longer in the inbox on
his PC.
