lost my entourage identity!

I tried to check my email today and Entourage acted as though it had never
seen me before in its life. It's asking me to set it up again as though I had
just installed it.

Have I just lost my entire Address Book and all my saved emails? Is there
any way to get it to remember all the stuff that was already in it? And what
the heck causes this?

Heather,
Entourage holds everything (addresses, emails, categories, etc) in the
Identity folder. This has to be in a folder called "Microsoft User
Data", which should be in the root (ie first) level of your Documents
folder. Check to make sure that it is there.

You didn't mention if you are using Entourage X or the newer Entourage
2004. I can't remember if they're identical in their file path, but it
should look something like Documents: Microsoft User Data: Main
Identity. If you haven't ever created a second identity, then your
identity should be called Main Identity.

Probably what happened is that this Main Identity was accidentally
moved. Move it back, and then restart Entourage.
