Entourage X would process Notes invitations and give me the
accept/decline buttons. With Entourage 04 that doesn't
happen anymore. I know there is an existing issue with
Exchange, but this seems somehow unrelated. Has anyone
else seen this, have any suggestions?
This is by design. Lotus uses a protocol whose name I forget (it's version
1) which is unreliable and not fully standards-compliant. Entourage X
acknowledged it (I gather it was something by way of a hack) but Entourage
2004 doesn't. Someone may be along in a moment who knows the correct
protocol name, but it's as I describe it. Unless your correspondents'
company changes some day to a more modern email client, or Lotus revises
their app to be more standards-compliant, you won't get proper invitations
from them although you should still be able to import the .ics attachment,
if you see one, into Entourage as events. (If they show an iCal icon, save
one to your desktop, do a Get Info, Opens With, change to Entourage and
press Change All. In future you can double-click the attachment in the
email. No Accept or Decline links though.)
