lower case letters falling below a line in a table don't print

When using a table in publisher and working with lower case letters that
fall below the line, ( qyjpg ) I can not find a way for these letter to print
below the line. Any part ot the letter that falls below the line is cut off,
a q ends up looking more like an a. I havent seen anything in the setup or
defaults that will change this. Any ideas?

Increase the "Space after paragraph" in Format > Paragraph
(version-dependent) to allow more space, so that there is space for the
descenders.
