Mac 2008 lock up and crashed.

G-4 iBook MS Office 2008

Was going from MS Office 2004 to MS Office 2008 and everything was
fine until I went into Entourage Preferences and tried to transfer my
address book by using the Sync, what a mistake that was. The whole
suiite shut down and I had to remove office completly. Finally got it
up and running again but am very leery about importing anything; in 7
years of usuage never had any problems. Just what is the best way to
get your address book over?
