Mac Powerpoint cuts off excerpts

Please help! For a school project I created several song excerpts as MIDI files on my Win XP Pro. PC. I burned them to CD and then installed the MIDI files to an IMAC as .MOV files. I then burned a copy of those .MOV files and installed them on a seperate PowerBook. Then I created a Powerpoint presentation on the PowerBook and embedded some of the .MOV files into the presentation. Hyperlinking them didn't work at all. Now when I run the slide show on the PowerBook and try to play one of the excerpts, it will SOMETIMES cut of the end of the song. If I then click on that same excerpt again immediately after that, it will play the whole way through. For my project, it is unacceptable for the song clip to be cut off, is there anything I can do, or anything I should do differently to have this not happen??? Thank you for your help
