.mac sent items suddenly not sorting by date sent

I recently clicked on my Sent Items folder and got an alert that my
database needed rebuilding, so I did so. Now, if I click on Sent Items
for my .mac account, all the items are listed under the Today heading,
even though they represent three years worth of sent e-mails. Going
to .mac webmail, the items are correctly sorted by date on the server.
I emptied the cache and they then resort correctly, but if I quit and
restart entourage, they are incorrectly sorted yet again. Help!

Try sorting by Sent not Received. When you did the rebuild on your IMAP
account the dates for mail received is changed to the date of the rebuild.

Please see my solution to 'shambolic' in a slightly newer thread (titled
"sent/received dates swapped in imported mail") in this newsgroup.

I posted a script that should resolve the issue.
