Now that you have announced the new version of MacOffice - please work
on a easy option to integrate Entourage with iSync! All this down load
this conduit for Palm, or exporting to iAddress in Apple is rubbish.
We all want to be able to have our calandar, address and (dare I
request what I can do on Windows and Palm) email transfers via iSync.
No more extra downloads. Make it easy for us with the Nokia or Palm
PDAs please!

In Entourage X, go to Help -> Send Feedback on Entourage.

So, did you send this to anyone that counts? (Like Microsoft)

Unfortunately, this is not likely to happen any time soon. The fault lies
with Apple - they have not published the APIs for iSync, and until they do
MS cannot create an iSync conduit.

By all means, let MS know that you want it, but also start yelling at Apple
to publish the specs!

Forgive me if I'm wrong but doesn't both isync and MS active sync support
standard protocols. Just different ones. To quote a ZDNet article " Apple's
iSync supports several synchronisation protocols " and " Microsoft's
synchronisation approach uses proprietary protocols".

It doesn't matter whether they do or don't behave themselves if they don't
tell anyone what they're doing. Barry is talking about the actual code for
iSync - Apple keep it secret. And Microsoft keeps its database code secret -
the Crown jewels. So it's a stalemate. Palm just gives away its software for
free since the whole point for them of syncing to desktop computers is to
sell more hardware. Their Palm Desktop APIs are totally open, so Apple could
just use them to make a PD iSync conduit. Naturally MS is not going to give
away the code they depend on commercially. And evidently Apple won't either
- I don't really see why MS or anyone should expect them to. It's not likely
to sell more Macs - or not many more. Apple is probably more concerned that
if they made the iSync APIs public, Microsoft or Dell or someone would copy
it and take away a business advantage Apple has with iSync.

I expect that when it somehow gets out, or other companies develop their own
effective rivals to iSync that can be used on Windows, Apple will someday
have no advantage in holding on. then it might actually be useful to them to
sync to Entourage (sell a few more Macs to switchers). Until then, no luck.

All:

Have there been any answers to the HandSpring Treo 600 sync with Entourage
questions? I am doing this tomorrow and would really appreciate any help.
Also, if in your opinion, Entourage is less productive than another product
please weigh in with the alternatives. I am growing tired of the program
hang ups and missteps.
