Macro/VB Errors following Upgrade to O2K3

C

Carl Hilton

I have upgraded users MS office from O2K and OXP and now some are getting VB
errors when launching applications such as MS Word and MS Excel and MS
Outlook (I belive these are when MS word is the default editor). In MS Word
it is:

"Microsoft Visual Basic: The macros in
this project are disabled. Please refer to the online help
or documentation of the host application to determine how
to enable macros."

Some of these errors were resolved when I deleted the adobe PDFMAKER.DOT
form the OFFICE11\STARTUP folder. However they still exist on others and
there is NOTHING else to remove. Also on some workstations the TOOLS ->
MACROS -> XXXX are disabled even though I chose to RUN ALL FROM HARD DRIVE
when I installed/changed install so that the VB Applicaion stuff got loaded
with Office 2003.

In Excel the error is "This workbook
has lost its VBA Project, ActiveX Controls and any other
programmability-related features"

HELP!

Hi, Carl

I think you will find that the problem is the Security setting rather than
anything else. If you can, change the Macro Security Setting in Word to
Medium (or Low). On Medium users will be prompted to Enable/Disable macros
whereas on Low they won't be prompted and the macros should run.
