Made an audio from Producer; file will not open in Windows Media

L

lnurenberg

I recorded an audio with Microsoft Producer, at the end of the recording I
saved the file in an audio folder. When I see the file in Producer it appears
as a Windows Media [.wma] file in the folder I had selected. The file has the
icon of a WM file and is in a Project within Producer.

When I open the file from Microsoft Publisher, it cannot open the file as it
soesn't understand the format. I cannot find any reason the file should not
open. The odd part is that when you look for .wma files nothing shows up in
the file; when you look at All Files [*.*] there the file is and this time
the icon is a Producer icon.

Why is it a media file in Producer and a Producer file when in Media? Why
cann't I open it in Media? Why can't I copy the file and save it as a .wma
file [tried that & this only makes a copy of the Producer file again.] Why
can't I copy and paste the file from Producer to Media?

I cannot transfer the huge Producer Project file via Instant Message to
others so they could open and save it as a .wma file. This should be a very
easy process and Microsoft products should understand each other. Please
help. Lynda

Why do you think you should be able to open a sound file in a program
developed for desktop publishing?

And PLEASE, stick with one post per issue.
