mail alert (2003) needing a way to be alerted when mail comes in

Hi,
I already kind of posted this, but don't know what I'm
doing.

I'm pretty sure there is a way that you can be alerted
that a new message came in via a sound or something that
pops up on your screen. I'd like a sound & something
that does pop up on you screen but stays there. Heard
there is something that does pop up but only pops up for
30 seconds. So hopeing someone knows how to make it
longer than 30 seconds.

The Rules Wizard in Outlook 2003 should let do this. (There are two alert
ones at the bottom of the action list. You want the second one up from the
bottom that says something like display specific text in an alert window.)

2.. Click E-mail Options.
3.. Click Advanced E-mail Options.
4.. Click Desktop Alert Settings ....
.......
also note you can have an envelope icon display in the system tray when you
have new unread email.
