Mail Could not be received at this time; Login Failed Pop up Box (Entourage 2004)

This morning I noticed that I could not log into 2 of my email
accounts. When I press the "send & receive" button a pop up box will
say ..

"The server for my email acount returned the error "Login Failed".
Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would
you like to try re-entering your password?"

Now I didn't even touch or mess with my "edit accounts" at all before
this all happened to me and this just happened out of the blue this
morning. In the past I would just re-enter the Account Id (the name
before the @ sign) and then my password and save my password in the OS
Keychain and everything is usually fine. Well, now I execute the same
procedure and then when i go to press the"send and receive" button the
pop-up box comes up and says the same thing like it completely ignored
my efforts in attempting to re-set everything.

Have I forgotten to do anything else in trying to fix this problem
within "edit accounts" or another area of this program..

Hi Shawn!

This is probably just a server problem on your service provider's side.
If you haven't changed anything after it has been working then you may
need to contact your support folks. Many ISPs will have server status
pages on their websites. Possibly yours has a message about this problem.

Hi Shawn,

Are you using Entourage in an MS Exchange environment? I have this
happen on many of my users' machines at random times, and it turns out
that their Active Directory accounts are getting locked out for no
apparent reason. I haven't figured this out at all in over a year, and
it's looking more and more like the culprit is Mac OS X's directory
services... not sure though :-(
