"Mail Error" erases calendar

B

Barry Nash

When I switch from a mail function to January 2004, or from
December 2003 to January 2004 when already in calendar, I'm told "The
action could not be completed. Mail error." All previously entered
events in that month are wiped out.

Can anyone help? Running Panther and Entourage X 10.1.4.

This sounds like database corruption. If rebuilding your database does not
fix the problem, check the error page for more help.

How to rebuild your database:

If you¹re in Entourage X, first go to
Entourage -> Turn Off Office Notifications. Quit Entourage, and then restart
Entourage holding down the Option key. When the Rebuild dialog box comes up,
choose to do a Typical Rebuild.

More help on rebuilding can be found here:

Thank you, Diane! Typical Rebuild failed, but Advanced Rebuild took
care of it on the first try. Interestingly, after the Advanced Rebuild, all
of my previous attempts to add information to the Calendar showed up.
so I eliminated the redundancies and appear to be back in business.

Great news! Glad I was able to help.
