Mail Merge using Subset of Entire Database

I have a few thousand records in my contact database in Entourage, and
I have assigned a category called "Christmas" to a small number of
these. I want to do a mail merge using Word to print a postcard to all
these contacts. There does not seem to be a way to do a merge to a
specific category, however. It seems that I have to merge to the entire
database or nothing. This can't possibly be true, but I'm having no
luck with this. Anybody have any suggestions? It's already the middle
of January!

I'm guessing you are using the Data Merge Manager in Word to do this. If
so, go to Tools > Data Merge Manager to open the Data Merge Manager palette,
and then, under "Data Source", make sure that you are getting data from the
Office Address Book.

Under "Merge", click "Query Options", and choose to "List mail merge
recipients by Categories". Check only the "Christmas" category and click
OK.
