Hi All - I am having this problem where my password is constantly
disappearing and nothing seems to be working stopping me from sending mail.
Even after I re enter it. I have tried deleting the account and setting up a
new one.

Then I tried checking the box in the account send screen for advance
settings and checked that SMTP server requires authentication. This do not
work however after I switched it back off. The mail sent. This is happening
mostly with mail with different addresses after the @ SIGN. All messages to
my own company staff are ok and go on the fly.

Receiving mail is ok. The only other message I have got besides that the
password is wrong on the outgoing is one that says that I have to check mail
before sending any. Even after I do this nothing the outgoing does not go.

My administrator says that he has never seen this happen on a Mac however he
has seen it in recent weeks on some of the PC machines he works with. Could
this be a virus on my Mac. I have never had one since 84. What do I do?

Any help would be appreciated.

Go to /Applications/Utilities/Keychain Utility, and open it. Find your
account password keychain and delete it. Quit. Log Out (Apple Menu) and In.
Now set the password in Tools/Accounts/account and it should stick. It's an
OS issue, not Entourage's.

You hsould also make sure the Keychain is not corrupted. In MacOS X
10.3, you can repair the keychain through the Windows menu. In previous
versions, you need the Keychain first Aid app from Apple.
