Mail views - ??

I'm running OS X 10.2.8 with Entourage v.10.4.1.

When I access 'Unread' in Mail views it's loaded with unread spam. When I
attempt to delete this file's contents I get an error message,' The article
is no longer on the server.'

I cannot figure out how to delete these headers. Any help/info is greatly
appreciated.

In 'mail views' select the 'enread' mail view, right click and choose 'edit
custom view' (exact wording may vary according to version).

Now, add a second search criteria 'status is not junk' and make sure the
selection method dropdown menu is set to 'ALL criteria are met'.
