Make your update service work with Firefox

M

Mel Foster

Microsoft update services do not recocnise Mozilla Forefox as the browser,
and therefore requires the use of Internet Explorer, which I do not want to
use any more. Microsoft should ensure that the update service works with all
browsers, not just its own product.

Because I consider forcing users to employ a particular Microsoft product in
order to obtain updates for Outlook to be anti-competitive behaviour.

BZZZZZTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!

Sorry, if you are using Novell for your NOS, you will need to use Zen Works
for updating. It is their program, they get to decide what they want to use
for their updating process.

Likewise, Microsoft gets to decide what they will support for their
updating. Their update uses ActiveX - Firefox does not without a plug-in.

You lose - please drive through.

Well, Milly, I'm sorry too. It's this kind of arrogant response which will,
I'm sure, cause Microsoft to lose and drive through over time.

Whether you are a Microsoft employee or just a sycophant, your articulation
of Microsoft's 'take it or leave it' attitude exemplifies why more and more
people want to leave it and find other solutions which offer better
functionality and user value.

I hope you enjoy your life as MVP - Outlook. I for one will now be
implementing an alternative Office suite in my organisation so I don't have
to be bothered with this kind of stuff in the future.

You lose!

If you have a Ford, and take it to a Chevy dealer for Ford maintenance,
would it be improper for them to not do it?

No, I have not lost anything except for someone who didn't want to play in
the first place. Bye now.

Oh, and try http://www.openoffice.org - it would probably suit your religion
better.
