MakeOrganizational chart stable unchanged when adding objects

When making an organizational chart in word 2003, I would like to add text
boxes, graphics and autoshapes to the design. I frequently edit this as a
display, but everytime I try to add something the chart becomes disorganized
and lines get mixed up. I think it has something to do with the new
connectors features, because when I pull the same document up on a 2000
machine, it works fine. How can I keep my chart stable and unaltered while
adding shapes?

Well, it depends on what exactly is moving. Have you used the Org Chart
applet thingamajig at all, or are you just drawing stuff (boxes, autoshapes,
lines, connectors) on the slide?

Thingamajig is such a good technical term, isn't it? <g> What I'm trying to
figure out is if you're working in PPT's Org Chart or if you're working
straight on the slide, but I can't figure out a good way to explain the
difference. (So I'm hoping you already understand!) Lessee. If you go to
Format/Slide Layout, which layout is selected on the task pane?

You might try heading to Tools/Autocorrect and turning off "automatic
layouts for inserted objects."

By the way, I do recommend avoiding the Org Chart applet and instead just
drawing the stuff on the slide. And thanks for mentioning the version of PPT
you have, because it's especially helpful in this question.
